On the morning of August 2nd, 2024, a 67-year-old man named Ho fainted on the platform of the Tai Hing (North) Stop in Tuen Mun district, Hong Kong. He fell approximately one metre down onto the track below, fortunately at a time when no trains were approaching.

Bystanders on the platform quickly alerted the authorities, and paramedics were able to move the unconscious man away from the track area. He was then transported by ambulance to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment. It was reported that the man had sustained injuries to his head and hands in the fall, but he regained consciousness later.

During the incident, light rail services in the area were temporarily adjusted, but normal operations resumed around 10 minutes later once the situation was brought under control.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety on public transportation platforms. While such accidents are rare, it is crucial for bystanders to remain vigilant and report any emergencies to the authorities promptly. The quick response of the paramedics likely prevented further harm to the elderly man in this case.
