The Hong Kong Airport Authority has announced that 90 flights are expected to be cancelled while another 130 will be delayed today as a result of typhoon Koinu's disruption in Hong Kong.
The flights that are affected mainly are those scheduled earlier from or bound for mainland China and Japan.
The Airport Authority spokesperson advised that travellers should check the latest flight details online before going to the airport. He said further that the Airport Express line will be suspended in case of a higher storm signal, and people moving to and from the airport should plan their trips ahead of time.
"The Airport Express is now operating normally but bus services are limited," he said.
"If a higher storm signal is issued, the Airport Express service will suspended. Travellers arriving in Hong Kong may then need to take longer to arrange transport to go into the city."
The airport authorities with other airlines are making huge efforts in deploying more manpower to assist passengers at the airport.
Moreover, the airport's shops and restaurants will shift forward their working period to provide the services for the increase in demand.
