A man driving a black Lexus on his way towards Tseung Kwan O- Lam Tin tunnel lost his life on Wednesday morning at around 6 am after his car dashed into material that divided the road at a roundabout in Yau Tong. The driver was together with other four passengers. The four are injured with two in critical condition, it was reported.
The driver, 21 named Ho by surname was said to be trapped in his seat with the front part of his car seriously destroyed. It took firefighters more than 1 hour to cut through the damaged vehicle before he was taken out.
He was consequently pronounced dead at Tseung Kwan O Hospital.
Police reported that the group had supper together before the fatal accident.
The four passengers are men and are presently in the hospital. Two of them were in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon while the other two were in serious and stable condition, it was said.
Police from the Kowloon East Traffic special investigation unit are investigating.
