A driver in Hong Kong crashed his vehicle into a road barrier, killing himself and two passengers


A 25-year-old man who dashed his car into a highway railing died with two passengers on Thursday morning on Tuen Mun Road.


The reports about the incident reached the police at 3:23 am after several calls from other drivers who saw the wrecked vehicle on Tuen Mun Road, police said.


Police said the car was suspected to have lost control before it eventually hit the road barrier, damaging the gantry and traffic sign.


Police stated that the driver was trapped and taken out from the compacted vehicle by the officers. However, he was confirmed dead at the scene.


The reports said further that the two passengers, a male and a female were unconscious and rushed to the hospital but the male was later pronounced dead.


The surviving female passenger who was undergoing surgery in Tuen Mun Hospital was later pronounced dead as well, the report said.


The New Territories North special traffic investigation team was assigned to look into the causes of this fatal crash, police said.
