A private car driver died while a taxi driver was injured after a truck dashed into two of them when they were out of their various vehicles to check the level of damages caused by their earlier collision on the Hong Kong highway.
According to the police, the accident happened around 10:30 pm on Monday in Sha Tin at the Pictorial Garden housing estate on the Kowloon-bound lanes of Tate’s Cairn Highway.
The police spokesperson said their earlier investigation of the incident revealed that “a private car and a taxi collided, and two drivers got out of the vehicles” before a truck arrived and crashed into both vehicles.
“When emergency personnel arrived, the two injured drivers were found on the highway,” it was added.
Afterwards, the two men were quickly taken to the nearby hospital. The driver of the private car was confirmed dead at about 11.30 am, the report said.
However, the other man who was a taxi driver injured in the forehead and made a complaint of a painful pelvis, police said.
There is a video online that shows how the crash happened.
Police said they have arrested the truck driver on suspicion of dangerous driving that caused death while officers from the New Territories South traffic unit are investigating the case.

警方表示，他們已以涉嫌危險駕駛導致他人死亡的罪名逮捕了卡車司機，新界南交通組的人員正在調查此案。
