An amber rainstorm signal issued on Monday morning, warning of flooding risk in some low-lying parts of city


An amber rainstorm signal has been issued by Hong Kong weather watchdog on Monday morning, adding that city to expect flooding in some low-lying areas as thundery showers edged closer.


The amber rainstorm forecast follows after around 3 hours that thunderstorm signal warning was issued earlier this morning at 7:25am.


“A broad trough of low pressure is bringing thundery showers to western Guangdong and the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary,” it said. “Besides, a strong easterly airstream is affecting the coast of eastern Guangdong".


“There will be flooding in some low-lying and poorly drained areas. People who are likely to be affected should take necessary precautions to reduce their exposure to risk posed by the heavy rain and flooding.” The forecaster added.




週一上午發布黃色暴雨訊號,警告城市部分低窪地區有洪水風險



香港天氣監管機構週一早上發布了黃色暴雨信號,並補充說,隨著雷陣雨的臨近,該市預計一些低窪地區將出現洪水。


今天早上 7 點 25 分,雷暴警告訊號發布約 3 小時後,發布了黃色暴雨預報。


報告稱,一道寬闊的低壓槽正為粵西及珠江口附近地區帶來雷陣雨。 「此外,一股強勁偏東氣流正影響粵東沿海」。


「一些低窪和排水不良的地區將會發生洪水。 可能受到影響的人們應採取必要的預防措施,以減少暴雨和洪水帶來的風險。 預報員補充道。
