An asteroid of about Eiffel-Tower's height is descending towards the Earth, NASA warns

Nasa has warned that a gigantic space rock about 1007-foot wide is speeding towards the Earth and alerted the public that this huge Asteroid 2006 HVS will descend panic kingly close to Earth today, April 26.

According to Nasa, near-Earth asteroids refer to celestial objects that circle the sun and come near the Earth's orbit. These asteroids could cause considerable damage if collided with our planet based on their sizes. However, to keep away from any potential disaster posed by these asteroids, space agencies such as NASA and ESA always make close observations.

This asteroid which is about the height of the Eiffel-Tower has been named Asteroid 2006HV5 by NASA's Center for Near Earth Objects Studies. It will pass Earth on April 26 at a distance of 1.5 million miles, presently speeding towards the Earth with a velocity of 62723 kilometres per hour, said NASA.

NASA is equipped with the latest technology to detect the danger of falling asteroids to the Earth. It has established NEO Observation Programs that are in charge of finding, tracking and distinguishing NEOs and figuring out those that may pose hazards to our planet.
