Big Wave Bay, Shek O and Stanley Main Beach are temporarily closed for maintenance of anti-shark net

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today that Big Wave Bay Beach, Shek O Beach and Stanley Main Beach in the southern district of Hong Kong Island will be temporarily closed until further notice.

Closure is necessary to maintain the shark prevention net. As a precaution, red flags have been raised at these beaches to signal the closure to the public. Visitors are strongly advised not to swim at these beaches during this time.
