On the 5th of May, Cheung Chau Island is getting ready to host an exciting event known as the Climbing Carnival, which will feature a thrilling bun scrambling competition. The event is a highlight of the annual Bun Carnival and will take place at the soccer pitch of Pak Tai Temple Playground from noon until 6pm.

Participants, who must be at least one meter tall, will have the opportunity to register on-site and climb a 14-meter tall bun tower. This tower is specifically erected for the upcoming Bun Scrambling Competition, which will be held on the 15th of May. To ensure the safety of the climbers, experts from the China Hong Kong Mountaineering & Climbing Union will be available to provide guidance on climbing techniques and safety precautions.
In addition to the bun scrambling competition, attendees can also participate in other activities at the carnival. They can hang their wishes on the Wishing Bun Tower, which is located at the event. The carnival will also feature various shows, game booths, handicraft activities, and an exhibition of award-winning entries from the Student Drawing Competitions.

長洲為五月五日攀爬嘉年華預備升旗活動
五月五日,長洲島將舉辦一個令人興奮的活動,稱為攀爬嘉年華,當中包括一場刺激的升旗比賽。這個活動是年度升旗節的重頭戲,將在北帝廟遊樂場的足球場舉行,從中午到下午六時進行。
參加者必須至少一米高,有機會現場報名並攀爬一座高14米的升旗塔。這座塔專門為即將在五月十五日舉行的升旗比賽而建。為了確保攀爬者的安全,中國香港登山及攀爬聯會的專家將提供攀爬技巧和安全預防措施的指導。
