China's second largest brewery stock price falls after video of the worker urinating in the material

Tsingtao Brewery, an Anglo-German Brewery Co. Ltd in Qingdao, China. China's second largest brewery, with about 15% of the domestic market share and also accounts for half of China's national beer exports lately experienced a fall in its stock price.


This was followed by a short video posted on the Weibo platform more than a week ago showing one of its company's workers standing at the edge of a container urinating into the brewery production materials.


The video went viral with tens of millions of views on social media with various kinds of reproaches from the netizens.


The Independent local authorities said, a probe had been launched about the case with a Tsingtao company representative came forward to acknowledge the video and give statements to the police about the incident.


Consequently, the Tsingtao brewery’s share price dropped by 1 per cent on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on the second day that the video became viral and circulating on the internet. On the 23rd of October, it dropped further to another 7.5 per cent.

青島啤酒是位於中國青島的英德啤酒有限公司,也是中國第二大啤酒廠,佔國內市場份額約15%,也佔中國啤酒出口量的一半,近期股價下跌。


一周多前,微博平台上發布了一段短視頻,顯示該公司的一名工人站在集裝箱邊緣,向啤酒廠材料中撒尿。


影片在社群媒體上瘋傳,點擊量達數千萬,遭到網友各種指控。


《獨立報》地方當局表示,已對此案展開調查,青島啤酒公司的一名代表出面承認了這段視頻,並向警方就該事件作出了陳述。


結果,影片在網路瘋傳的第二天,青島啤酒在上海證券交易所的股價就下跌了1%。 10月23日,這一比例進一步下降至7.5%。
