August 12, 2024 - The Perseid meteor shower is set to peak tonight, offering stargazers a dazzling display of shooting stars. According to Kenneth Chiu Kam-Hung, the assistant curator of the Hong Kong Space Museum, the best viewing times will be from 11 PM to 5 AM, with an expected 15 to 20 meteors visible per hour.
The Space Museum anticipates that around 15 meteors per hour could be seen in remote areas during the 3 to 4 AM window on August 13. However, the Hong Kong Observatory warns that cloudy skies and a chance of showers could potentially impact visibility.
