A serious fire broke out in a subdivided room in Emperor Building on Wednesday (27th), injuring four people. Among them, a 35-year-old man surnamed Wong, who was slightly injured and was sent to the hospital after regaining consciousness.
The other three remain unconscious. Unfortunately, at 3:47 pm on Thursday (28th), a 29-year-old woman surnamed Chan died of her injuries. At 3:27 pm yesterday, a 32-year-old Filipino woman, one of the victims, also passed away. The condition of a 22-year-old man surnamed Lam remains critical.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. when a fire broke out in one of the subdivided rooms, specifically an empty room near the entrance. As a result, four residents of three other rooms found themselves trapped and required rescue by firefighters.
It is initially believed that the fire was caused by combustible materials in the room, but the specific cause is still under investigation.
