The Federation of Trade Unions (FTU) recently visited the government headquarters to advocate for budget measures aimed at stimulating consumption, optimizing the tax system, and supporting the grassroots. The FTU emphasized that the government should consider implementing electronic consumer vouchers to revitalize the local retail market.

To attract more citizens to stay in Hong Kong during holidays, the FTU suggested that the government limit the use of e-vouchers to weekends only. Additionally, the union proposed that the government collaborate with merchants to distribute e-coupons and cash rebates to tourists.

Furthermore, the FTU recommended that the government issue more bonds for various infrastructure projects in the future as a means to obtain funds.

By implementing these measures, the FTU believes that the government can effectively stimulate the economy, rejuvenate the retail sector, and provide much-needed support to the grassroots community.
