On January 3, 2025, Hong Kong Customs made a significant drug bust at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, seizing around 2.4 kilograms of suspected liquid cocaine with an estimated street value of HK$2 million. The operation led to the arrest of a suspect on January 6.

Customs officials conducted a thorough investigation and inspected a parcel sent from Guangzhou, which had been falsely declared to contain acrylic boards. Upon examination, they discovered the concealed cocaine hidden within hollow spaces of three acrylic boards.
Following this discovery, a controlled delivery was arranged in Hung Hom, resulting in the arrest of a 27-year-old man associated with the case. The suspect reportedly resisted compliance during the arrest and claimed to be unemployed.
He faces charges of attempting to traffic a dangerous drug and obstructing Customs officers. The suspect is scheduled to appear at the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts on January 8.
Customs authorities are urging the public to stay vigilant and avoid involvement in drug trafficking for financial gain. They also caution against accepting offers to transport controlled substances in or out of Hong Kong.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offense, carrying a maximum penalty of HK$5 million and life imprisonment upon conviction.
