A remarkable young talent from Hong Kong has recently made waves in the United Kingdom. Cyrus Leung, a 12-year-old boy who migrated to Sheffield, England with his family in 2019, has achieved an impressive feat by scoring the same IQ as renowned figures Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

Cyrus's remarkable accomplishment has earned him a place in Mensa, an exclusive society for individuals with high IQ scores. Scoring 160, just two marks shy of the maximum possible for individuals under 18, Cyrus has demonstrated exceptional intellectual abilities. His father, Frank Leung, encouraged him to take the test in the hopes of finding like-minded friends who share his interests. Mensa, founded in 1946, accepts members who rank above the 98th percentile of IQs worldwide.

In addition to his exceptional IQ, Cyrus is also a talented pianist and aspires to become a mathematician or scientist. He follows in the footsteps of another Hong Kong prodigy, Adrian Li, who moved to Barnet, London in 2020. Adrian, at the age of 11, achieved a remarkable score of 162 in the Mensa test the previous year. Adrian's mother, Rachel Lau, shared that he had shown a passion for books from a very young age and was already capable of writing novels by eight years old.

Cyrus's father, an IT manager, believed that joining Mensa would provide his son with an opportunity to connect with like-minded peers and further develop his interests. He acknowledged Cyrus's initial nervousness before the exam, as well as the excitement that followed upon receiving the test results. Frank Leung expressed his pride in Cyrus's achievements, highlighting his son's early aptitude for mathematics, which he displayed by mastering multiplication tables at the age of three.

Cyrus's remarkable accomplishment at such a young age is a testament to his exceptional abilities. His story serves as an inspiration to other young individuals and emphasizes the importance of nurturing and supporting gifted children. With his promising future ahead, Cyrus Leung is poised to leave a lasting impact in the fields of mathematics or science.
