Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department warns about bogus emails

The Inland Revenue Department yesterday, 7th March alerted Hong Kong people to fraudulent emails alleged to be issued by the department but otherwise. The message comes in an email with hyperlinks that direct to a bogus website which will ask to submit the person's particulars and credit card information.


The inland revenue department reiterated of no connection with such emails as they are criminal deception and will report the case to the Police for further investigation.


Members of the public are therefore reminded not to open any suspicious emails.



 

稅務局就虛假電郵發出警告

稅務局昨日(3 月 7 日)提醒香港市民提防據稱由該部門發出的欺詐電郵,但並非如此。 該消息來自一封帶有超鏈接的電子郵件,該鏈接指向一個虛假網站,該網站將要求提交此人的詳細信息和信用卡信息。

稅務局重申與這些電郵無關,因為它們是刑事欺詐,並將向警方報案作進一步調查。

因此,市民切勿開啟任何可疑電郵。
