Hong Kong Observatory alerts that the temperature will ascend to 38°C in some areas

Hong Kong would be preparing for a red-hot temperature in the coming days, with the mercury expected to ascend to 34°C and as high as 38°C in some places. This effect comes as a result of super typhoon Mawar. The Hong Kong Observatory yesterday reported that the subsiding air from Super Typhoon Mawar would bring very hot and mainly fine weather to the city on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In some urban areas, the Mercury will go up to 34°C or more while it will be 2°C higher in New Territories.

The temperatures were forecasted to reach 38°C in Sheung Shui, in the North district.

Residents were urged to take necessary precautions to stay safe in a very high temperature, such as performing outdoor activities in the morning or late afternoon and avoiding prolonged exposure to sunlight.
