In less than a day, Hong Kong police have apprehended two suspects involved in Tsim Sha Shui watch store's smash-and-grab gang robbery who stole luxury watches worth HK$40 million yesterday afternoon.

According to the reports from a close source to the case on Wednesday, there was a suspect who was unmasked with a white long-sleeve shirt inside the luxury watches store during the hold-up.

It was said “We believe this man posed as a customer to get the staff to unlock the front door,” the insider said. “Seconds after he entered the shop, four robbers immediately stormed into the store before the door was closed.”

He added that the two suspects were being held in Tsim Sha Tsui police station for questioning as of midday on Wednesday.

A video emerged online revealed a man without a surgical mask wearing a white long-sleeve shirt left the store suddenly before the gang entered. It was shown further in the video that two of the four masked robbers in hoodies crashed a display of shelves with two sledgehammers as they entered the store.

The video also revealed the robbers were locked inside the shop initially when they tried to run out. One used a sledgehammer to smash the glass door before taking to their heels.

Police said the robbers went away in a getaway car driven by another suspect.

The four masked robbers were non-Chinese men and thought to be aged between 20 and 25, police added.

警方稱，劫匪乘坐另一名嫌犯駕駛的逃逸車離開。

警方補充說，這四名蒙面劫匪是非華裔男子，年齡據信在 20 至 25 歲之間。
