This warm spell will continue until Monday, with temperatures expected to remain around a comfortable 25 degrees Celsius. However, the relative humidity will fluctuate between 75% and 100% during this period.
The Hong Kong Observatory predicts that these springtime highs will be short-lived. A brisk northeast monsoon is forecasted to sweep across the Guangdong region by midweek, resulting in a significant drop in temperature. On Tuesday, March 19th, the temperature is expected to plummet to 17 degrees Celsius, marking an 8-degree decrease from the previous day. The descent into cooler weather will continue on Wednesday, March 20th, with the lowest temperature anticipated to reach 20 degrees Celsius before a gradual recovery begins.
The sudden shift in temperature is attributed to a strong easterly airstream currently influencing the Guangdong coastline, which has brought a cloud band over the area. The Hong Kong Observatory raised a strong monsoon signal yesterday, indicating gusty winds and average wind speeds exceeding 40 kilometers per hour, equivalent to the force of a No. 3 tropical cyclone.
For Thursday, March 14th, the Hong Kong Observatory's weather forecast suggests a mainly cloudy day with a chance of isolated rain patches in the morning and at night. Bright intervals are also expected during the day. Temperature fluctuations are predicted to range between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius, with moderate to fresh easterly winds intensifying offshore and on higher ground.
