HONG KONG - The Hong Kong Observatory has forecast a change in weather patterns in the coming days, with a fresh northeast monsoon bringing cooler mornings and evenings to Guangdong. A strong replenishment of the monsoon is expected to reach China's southern coast on Thursday, causing temperatures to plummet. Forecasts show the weather will turn dry and sunny in the region by the end of the week.

The temperature difference between day and night is expected to widen significantly, with temperatures expected to rise slightly in coastal areas as the monsoon weakens early next week. Meanwhile, a low-pressure area east of the Philippines is expected to evolve and move closer to the Philippines in the coming days. Currently, the northeast monsoon and the low-pressure area in the eastern Philippines are affecting Guangdong, causing unstable weather.

The weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow shows that the weather will be mainly cloudy with occasional light rain. It will be a little cooler in the morning and evening, with temperatures expected to drop to around 19 degrees. However, the weather will be dry that day, with occasional sunshine, and the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 24 degrees. Moderate to occasional north to northeast winds are expected.

The Hong Kong Observatory predicts slightly cooler weather in the morning and evening on Wednesday. Winds from the north are expected to pick up later this week, bringing sunshine and very dry conditions with temperatures dropping to around 17 degrees in the morning. The Observatory expects temperatures to drop below 20 degrees Celsius this week.

The weather watchdog is predicting temperatures will drop to 19 degrees tomorrow, with further falls to 17 degrees expected on Friday and Saturday.

On Monday (November 13), the temperatures at Tsuen Wan Observation Station were 17.6 degrees and 18.7 degrees respectively, and the temperature in Kowloon City was 18.9 degrees. The temperature at Shau Kei Wan Station was slightly higher at 19.7 degrees.

Tai Mo Shan recorded the lowest temperature of the day at 12.3 degrees, followed by Tate's Cairn and Ngong Ping at 14.2 degrees.

As strong monsoon supplies are expected to arrive along the South China coast on Thursday (November 16), the Observatory expects temperatures to drop further, ensuring fine and very dry weather in Hong Kong in the second half of the week.
