Hong Kongers to Embrace Cold Lunar Year

According to the weather forecast by the Hong Kong Observatory, the influence of an easterly airstream will bring cloudiness over the coast of Guangdong on the Lunar New year's day. On the night of the second day of the Lunar New Year, a cold front is expected to move across the coast of southern China.

Under the influence of the associated intense northeast monsoon, it would as well continuously become cold and windy on the 3rd and 4th of the Lunar New Year. The Centre for Health Protection encouraged everyone to stay warm, whilst a Labour Department press release urged employers to make appropriate arrangements for staffs.

The lowest temperature ever recorded at the Observatory was zero degrees Celsius on January 18, 1893.
