The Hong Kong Observatory forecasted that showers and squally thunderstorms will be occurring from time to time in the coming days with temperatures ranging between 26°C and 29°C.
There were heavy downpours in the city this afternoon that instigated an amber rainstorm warning.
A trough of low pressure had brought showers and thunderstorms to the coastal areas of Guangdong province, according to the forecaster."Locally, more than 30 millimetres of rainfall was recorded over Sai Kung, Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island in the afternoon,” it said.
The conditions of the weather are expected to worsen on Friday and Saturday.
There will be a few showers early next week but it will be brighter, the forecaster said.
