
The Hong Kong Government announced yesterday that with effect from 1 May 2023, the minimum wage rate in Hong Kong will be increased to HK$40 per hour from HK$37.5 per hour.
The monthly threshold amount for keeping records of hours worked will be increased accordingly to HK$16,300 per month from HK$15,300.Whenever wages payable regarding a wage period are not up to HK$16,300 per month, the employer is required to keep a record of the total number of hours worked by the employee in that wage period.
Employees are protected by the Statutory Minimum Wage (SMW) in Hong Kong at all levels and conditions of work according Minimum Wages Ordinance.
最低工資從 5 月 1 日起從每小時 37.5 港元上調至 40 港元
香港政府昨日宣布,由2023年5月1日起,香港最低工資將從每小時37.5港元上調至每小時40港元。
記錄工作時數的每月最低限額將由每月 15,300 港元相應增加至 16,300 港元。每當工資期的應付工資未達每月 16,300 港元時,雇主須備存總額記錄 僱員在該工資期的工作小時數。
根據最低工資條例,員工在所有級別和工作條件下均受香港法定最低工資 (SMW) 的保護。
