Japan Airlines caught fire after landing at Haneda Airport, all passengers were evacuated safely - NHK reports

A Japan Airlines A350 aeroplane caught fire at Haneda International Airport in Tokyo

A Japan Airlines plane was in flame on Tuesday after landing at Tokyo’s Haneda airport, national broadcaster NHK reported.


All the passengers on board were safely evacuated, it was added.


The video showed the passenger jet moving and then igniting with a large fireball. The plane was then seen at a standstill with people using emergency slides to flee the inferno as firefighters tried to battle the growing flames.


There were approximately 400 passengers and crew on board the plane, according to NHK


Japan Airlines flight 516 took off from New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport,  NHK reported.


Japan Airlines says the plane collided with what appears to be a Japan Coast Guard aircraft upon landing, NHK added.


Following the flight tracking site, FlightAware, the flight was an Airbus A350-900, the report said.

日本航空表示,這架飛機在著陸時與一架疑似日本海岸警衛隊的飛機相撞, NHK 補充道。


報導稱,根據航班追蹤網站 FlightAware,該航班是一架空中巴士 A350-900。
