A kayaking outing in Tai O, Lantau Island, turned dangerous when a man fell into the sea after his kayak capsized. The incident occurred while he was enjoying the activity with friends, and he was not wearing a life jacket at the time.
Fortunately, nearby ferry crew members heard his cries for help and quickly sprang into action, joined by passengers. They threw a life ring to the man, which he was able to grab, aiding in his rescue.
Footage from the scene showed the man, wearing glasses and visibly exhausted, clinging to the overturned kayak. As the ferry approached, the crew asked if he could swim. In another clip, he was seen paddling toward the ferry while a crew member used a metal rod to stabilize the kayak.
Authorities received reports around 4 p.m. about three individuals who had fallen into the water while kayaking in the Sham Wat area. One person was rescued quickly, while the other two were initially missing. Fortunately, all three were later located and brought to safety, appearing alert and without serious injuries.
