The Wong Tai Sin MTR station which was worst hit by the flood waters resulting from the heavy rainfall in the city yesterday would bounce back to services today with the Kwung Tong line completely resumed to services, MTR authorities announced yesterday night.
The station was left with tonnes of waist-high flood waters that dumped inside its according to the circulating video that went viral on the internet on Friday.
However, the authorities notified the public that the Wong Tai Sin station's escalators and elevators may not be totally in operation while particular entrances and exits will be closed as well.
It was further advised that the mobile card readers would be available and their staff would extend the handheld equipment for the passenger's access. The passengers are told that this process might take longer time and they need to be patient and understanding.
Besides, this station's platform screen doors will be left open. The passengers waiting to board the train should pay attention and be cautious as the damages to some equipment will need some time to be fully fixed.
All passengers were finally advised to use Lok Fu and Diamond Hills stations as alternative options if required.
港鐵觀塘線黃大仙站水浸後恢復服務
