Macau authorities have uncovered a drug smuggling operation involving a South African woman who allegedly had 70 cocaine-laced eggs hidden inside her body.

The suspect flew from South Africa to Macau via Singapore with the intention of smuggling drugs into Macau, but was intercepted by law enforcement officers upon arrival in Macau. The discovery was made during a thorough examination using a body X-ray scanner.

After her arrest, the woman involved was immediately sent to San Janulio Hospital Center for drug treatment. Each egg contained cocaine, which was successfully expelled from her system during the operation. The total weight of the seized drugs exceeded 821 grams, with an estimated street value of more than 2 million yuan.

The detained suspect is Ms. Zwayi, a 48-year-old South African citizen who claims to be unemployed. Law enforcement authorities charged her with illegal trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances. An investigation into the source of the drugs is ongoing and remains under investigation.

The suspect reportedly claimed not to know the nature of the substance she ingested and claimed she lacked understanding of subsequent instructions. However, it was revealed that she may receive a reward of HK$10,500 upon success.
