Minibus driver pinned under the bus while collecting lunch

HONG KONG - A tragedy occurred at around 10pm last night (18th). A Route 8 minibus was on its way to Ho Man Tin Estate when it collided at Sheung Lok Street in Hung Hom. The minibus driver stopped briefly to collect his lunch box from his taxi driver friend. Unfortunately, as the handbrake may not have been engaged, the minibus suddenly moved forward, hitting the minibus driver and trapping him underneath the vehicle.

Upon witnessing the incident, the taxi driver immediately sought assistance and reported the accident to the authorities.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene and provided emergency medical aid to the injured driver. Despite his best efforts, the driver was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Law enforcement officials cordoned off the area while they investigated. Blood stains were visible near the vehicle, and remnants of lunch boxes and food were found underneath the minibus. The specific cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
