A series of traffic accidents occurred at around 8 a.m this morning. Multiple private cars and taxis collided on the Tsing Ma Bridge heading towards Lantau Island, totaling 14 vehicles.

According to preliminary reports, one of the accidents involved two private cars and three taxis, causing minor injuries to two people, while no one was injured in the other accidents. Currently, the injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.

Due to the impact of the accident, the Transport Department announced that some lanes of the Tsing Ma Bridge to the airport will be closed to allow drivers to use the remaining lanes. However, the low-rise traffic lanes of the Lantau Link towards the airport have been reopened, resulting in heavy traffic in the area.
