At least one passenger died and dozens were injured in a flight from London to Singapore after a plane encountered severe turbulence leading to an emergency landing in Bangkok, Singapore Airlines said on Tuesday.
The flight was diverted to Bangkok, the airline said in an announcement on social media, and landed at 3:45 p.m. local time on Tuesday.
The airline in a statement said 18 people had been hospitalized and another 12 people were being treated.
The passenger who died, a 73-year-old British man, he was said to be likely suffered from a heart attack, Thai airport authorities told reporters during a press conference “The remaining passengers and crew are being examined and given treatment, where necessary, at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok,” the airline said.

Singapore Airlines offered its condolences to the family of the person who died on the flight, adding that “we deeply apologize for the traumatic experience that our passengers and crew members suffered on this flight.”
