One man was charged while another wanted on a similar offence of inciting people not to vote

A 38-year-old man has been charged while another person has been issued an arrest warrant over a purported social media post which changed people's minds not to vote in the coming district council elections on Sunday.


According to the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) on Tuesday, an analyst programmer named Man Wing-fung was accused of posting on social media a statement which contained a link to a video where another man allegedly incited people not to take part in the polls.



Man Wing-fung is charged with engaging in illegal conduct to incite another person not to vote by activity in public during an election period.


Consequently, an arrest warrant had been issued by the magistrate to the alleged man, Wong Sai-chak who was in the posted video and who has already left Hong Kong, the ICAC said.


Wong  Sai-chak is being accused of the same offence as Man Wing-fung.

一名 38 歲男子被指控,另一人因涉嫌社交媒體帖子而被發出逮捕令,該帖子改變了人們在周日即將舉行的區議會選舉中不投票的想法。


據廉政公署週二稱,一名名叫文永峰的分析師程式設計師被指控在社群媒體上發布一份聲明,其中包含另一名男子涉嫌煽動人們不要參加投票的影片連結。


文永峰被控在選舉期間進行非法行為,透過公開活動煽動他人不投票。


廉政公署表示,因此,裁判官已向影片中出現的嫌疑人黃世澤發出逮捕令,他已離開香港。


黃世澤被控與文永峰犯下同樣罪行。
