Police announced on Thursday that special traffic arrangements will be put in place on October 1 (National Day) to manage the heavy crowd that will be gathering to watch the fireworks display lighting up the night over Victoria Harbour.
The official said, around 100,000 people are expected to watch this spectacular scene that will start at 9 pm on October 1 and go for 23 minutes.
According to the police, roads would be shut down partly to manage the flow of traffic. The routes around the Harbour such as Tsim Sha Tsui (Salisbury, Chatham, Canton and Nathan Road) will be partly closed from 7 p.m. and West Kowloon Roads will not left out. At the same time, Central and North Point are said to be closed in phases as well.
Three exits of the Central-Wan Chai Bypass will be shut down from 7:30 p.m., and parts of the Island Eastern Corridor will be closed from 8:55 p.m.
"All the traffic arrangements are to facilitate the public to access these spots to view the fireworks, so we encourage the public to come out to enjoy the festival. We will try our best to facilitate the whole event," Superintendent Lam Chi-hang said.
He advised that people who plan to watch the fireworks for the night should consider using public transport.

他建議計劃晚上觀看煙火的人們應考慮使用公共交通工具。
