After the recent super typhoon "Saola" and typhoon "Haikui" hit Hong Kong, Hong Kong's stormy weather seems to be difficult to alleviate in the short term. According to the latest forecast from the US Global Forecast System (GFS), a tropical cyclone is expected to form in the waters near Haikou City on September 14 (Thursday).
It is expected to approach Hong Kong from the west on Friday and Saturday, September 15 and 16, before making landfall near Yangjiang City in the west of Hong Kong and gradually moving inland. Weather maps show that this tropical cyclone is quite intense.
The path and intensity of this "typhoon" deserve attention. Referring to the Earth Weather weather maps from the Hong Kong Observatory and the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), there initially appears to be no sign of any relevant trend. However, subsequent forecast updates indicated that the tropical cyclone may approach Hong Kong and make landfall to the west of the city.
