On June 17, 2024, commuters on an MTR Tsuen Wan Line train were evacuated from the train at Admiralty station after a snake was spotted on board. The incident occurred around 7 AM during the morning rush hour.
According to reports, a 40-centimeter black and white snake was sighted inside one of the train compartments as it was approaching Admiralty station from Central. MTR staff and the police were notified of the snake sighting, and all passengers were asked to exit the train and transfer to the next service.
The train, with the snake as its sole remaining passenger, was then diverted into a spare tunnel at Admiralty station. A snake catcher was later called in by MTR staff to capture the reptile, which was believed to be a non-venomous California Kingsnake. The snake was then transported to Kadoorie Farm.
This incident comes just days after a similar situation at an MCL Cinema in Sha Tin, where a 16-year-old boy's 30-centimeter pet python went missing inside the auditorium, leading to the theater being shut down for a few hours.
The evacuation of the MTR train caused disruptions during the busy morning commute, highlighting the need for vigilance and appropriate response procedures when unexpected wildlife incidents occur on public transportation.

2024年6月17日,港鐵荃灣線列車在金鐘站接近時,車廂內發現一條40厘米長的黑白相間的蛇隻,導致所有乘客被要求evacuate到下一班列車。
據報告指,此蛇隻約摸4點十厘米,在列車由中環開往金鐘期間被乘客發現。港鐵員工和警方隨即獲通知,並要求所有乘客離開列車轉乘下一班。
列車隨後被駛入金鐘站備用隧道,獨自留下那條被認為是無毒的加州王蛇。港鐵後來召來捕蛇人員將牠捕獲,並將之送往嘉道理農場。
此事件發生在剛剛過去的上星期四,沙田MCL戲院亦發生過類似情況,一名16歲男童的30厘米寵物蟒蛇在戲院內不見蹤影,導致戲院需關閉數小時。
