A 10-year-old boy who was among the three that robbed a luxury watch store earlier this week has been ordered to be detained in a juvenile home while police continue to investigate his alleged role in the crime.

The alleged boy, who could not be named for legal reasons and a 19-year-old Shiyan Khan, a construction worker were policed on Thursday to Kowloon City Court on a joint charge of robbery regarding the smash-and-grab heist in Tsim Sha Tsui on Monday afternoon.

They were not required to enter a plea as prosecutors asked for eight weeks for police to conduct further inquiries.

Principal Magistrate Don So Man-lung rejected the pair’s bail applications and remanded them in custody until the next hearing in November.

Khan was detained in the Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre while the boy, who had just attained the age where he could be charged with a criminal offence, was being held in the Tuen Mun Children and Juvenile Home.

The court heard the case on 20 high-end watches worth HK$3.7 million that were stolen from the VIP Station store on Canton Road by the two defendants and two others, who were not identified on a charge sheet available for press inspection.

Aside from the accused two, police have also apprehended a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of robbery and a 17-year-old student for allegedly misleading the force. The 17- years- old has been granted bail and released.

除了兩名被告外，警方還逮捕了一名涉嫌搶劫的 14 歲男孩和一名涉嫌誤導警方的 17 歲學生。 這名 17 歲的男子已獲准保釋並釋放。
