HONG KONG - A traffic accident occurred in Tung Chung District, Hong Kong this morning (6th) at 5:14 am. A truck was traveling along the North Lantau Highway to the airport when it appeared to lose control near the Caribbean Coast intersection.
The truck collided violently with the center barrier, causing it to overturn on the road. One of the front wheels came off and the fuel tank was punctured, causing oil to leak and cover the road.
The truck driver suffered an injury to his hand and was trapped inside the vehicle. A passing driver immediately reported the incident to authorities.
After receiving the report, the fire department rushed to the scene and rescued the trapped driver. The driver was subsequently taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment. It is reported that the driver suspected of falling asleep while driving, and law enforcement officials are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
