Two aircraft that left Hong Kong International Airport on a separate journey on Friday( 20th of October) were successfully diverted after faults were discovered in a flight.
First was the Cathay Pacific Airways flight CX596 in which 294 people were on board to Japan forced to return to Hong Kong on Friday morning. The door of the cargo section on the aircraft was said to be found unlocked, alarming by the emergency signal. The plane landed safely at 9:43 a.m. with emergency services standby at 9.28 a.m. after the notice, according to the report.
Cathay Pacific Airways authority made an apology and shortly arranged for the spare aircraft after the incident to fly passengers to their proposed destination.
The second diversion involved Hong Kong Express Airways to Taiwan which took off at 12:45 p.m. The wings of the aircraft were reported with faults and diverted to Hong Kong International Airport, Lap Kok at 1.31 p.m.
Fortunately, the problem was rectified and the rescheduled flight was announced to take off at 3 p.m.
