The celebration of Hong Kong SAR's 26th anniversary of returning to the Peoples' Republic of China will be nurtured with various celebratory activities this year by the combined efforts of the government and several public establishments in the city.
On the 1st of July, the door of different government facilities would be opened free to the public and also some means of transportation such as Tram and Ferries.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club has reported as well that all residents that are above 18 could gain entrance to the Sha Tin racecourse for free to enjoy the staging Hong Kong Reunification Raceday on July 1, the place where many local stars have been arranged to perform.
Earlier, the government reported that Hong Kong Ferries for particular routes and Tram transportation to be free of charge on July 1 and more days. Children that are below 11 years old can enjoy free rides on over 450 routes of KMB and LWB on July 1&2.
The museum in the city such as the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Hong Kong Museum of History will allow the public to enter free of charge.
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is making arrangements for most of their sports facilities to be free of charge on Saturday, varying from indoor facilities such as basketball and volleyball courts to outdoor facilities such as tennis courts and golf courses.

香港賽馬會亦報導,凡年滿18歲的居民均可免費進入沙田馬場,欣賞7月1日上演的香港回歸賽馬日,現場安排了多位本地明星表演。
此前,政府報告稱,香港特定航線的渡輪和電車運輸將於7月1日及以上天免費。 11歲以下小童於7月1日及2日可免費乘搭九巴及龍運超過450條路線
市內的博物館,如香港藝術館、香港文化博物館及香港歷史博物館,將允許公眾免費參觀。
康樂及文化事務署正安排大部分體育設施在周六免費開放,包括籃球場、排球場等室內設施,以及網球場、高爾夫球場等室外設施。
