A Hong Kong domestic helper was arrested for allegedly stealing about HK$204,000 from her employer

A 43-year-old domestic helper has been arrested by the Hong Kong police for allegedly stealing about HK$204,000 in cash at her place of work in Happy Valley, Hong Kong, the report said.


Police said the woman was detained on Sunday, just an hour after her employer reported the theft on Sunday night.


The helper, who was said to be an Indonesian, was accused of stealing HK$200,000 and 65,000 Japanese yen both in cash from her employer’s flat, the police said on Monday.


Police said the alleged woman was

detained during an investigation by

officers from the Wan Chai police

district, with about HK$10,000 in

cash recovered from her, and she was

remained in custody as of Monday morning, it was added.
