Cathay Pacific is cancelling 34 of its scheduled flights starting from Tuesday to Friday as a result of the recent surge of flu among its pilots.
It was earlier announced by the giant Airways that close to one per cent of its passenger flights were cancelled throughout December as a result of what is called "elevated sickness rates on certain days.
Consequently, as the sickness persists, it was reported that at least 34 flights scheduled to fly from Taipei Shanghai, Dhaka, Beijing, Dubai and Delhi would be postponed this week.
It was informed that CX360 and round-trip flight CX369 to Shanghai Pudong International Airport would be cancelled for all six days, the news was provided by Hong Kong Aviation Forum's online page and Cathay Pacific's website.
The Cathay authority had earlier made an apology to those passengers who were concerned and assured to reduce the effects of the cancellations. It was also informed that their overall operations remained normal.
