During an anti-narcotics operation in Tai Po village, the police arrested a 25-year-old man and confiscated approximately HK$470,000 worth of cocaine.
The operation was initiated by Sha Tin police in Wai Tau Tsuen based on intelligence analysis. The man was apprehended with around 52 g of suspected cocaine in his possession.
Additionally, the police discovered approximately 427 g of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia in a rented unit associated with the man. Following a preliminary investigation, the man, identified as Yu, was taken into custody for drug trafficking. He is currently being held in detention, and the Sha Tin district special duties team is handling the case.
The police emphasized that drug trafficking is a severe criminal offense and carries a maximum penalty of a HK$5 million fine and life imprisonment.
