A 17-year-old teenage cyclist collided with a taxi on a Hong Kong road, became unconscious and now fighting for his life in a hospital on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, the cyclist was on his way ahead of the taxi along the Kwai Tsing Road section of a bridge in Tsing Yi when the collision happened at around 1:18 am
Police said that the taxi driver was suspected to have rammed the boy's bicycle leaving him with head injuries and unconsciousness.
The boy was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital in Lai Chi Kok for treatment and also the taxi driver after complaining of neck pain.
Afterwards, the 69-year-old who drove the taxi was suspected of dangerous driving and has been detained on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.
A government representative who spoke about the incident said the boy was in a critical condition as of 1 pm.
The accident is being investigated by the officers from the New Territories South traffic unit, police said.
